This is a repair and return service of the Gear Shift Module (GSM) for Jaguar. GSM is also referred as a gear shifter or a shift module.
Currently most of the GSM’s part numbers are on back order and are not available from the Jaguar dealer. If you are looking for a used replacement part, you will find that they cost around $400.00 dollars. What you should be aware of is that this part has a 100% failure rate, and the expensive used unit will fail sooner rather than later. In addition, GSMs are VIN coded, this means that the used part needs to be re-programmed at the dealer before it will work. So, the only sensible option is to have your own unit rebuild.
The entire rebuild process is done in the same day and part is shipped back to you at the end of the day. Except for cases where the DIY’er attempted to repair the GSM himself and broke the mechanism while dismantling it, the repair might take extra time. Please note, any parts need as a result are sold at additional cost.
We rebuilt all Jaguar shift modules, even if you part number is not listed in our “Reference Numbers” tab, and no matter what the problem it has internally. Please refer to our “Common Failure Symptoms” tab for detailed GSM failure description and associated diagnostic trouble codes.
